Building on Success

The House of Blues, Playboy magazine, and the Chrysler Corporation each have one. Ditto for Sharon Stone, Bruce Willis, Bonnie Raitt, and just about every local collector with an eye for the offbeat and original. Indeed, over the past decade, James Michalopoulos has gained a strong international following with his asymmetrical renderings of New Orleans architecture. But his interest isn't solely limited to off-kilter edifices. A visit to the Michalopoulos Gallery rewards fans with a growing selection of the artist's landscapes, figurative paintings (such as "Posture Perfect," shown), and still lifes. Original oil works are featured, along with limited-edition serigraphs.
